Book of the Month
'Noughts and Crosses' by Malorie Blackman
'Noughts and Crosses' has become a bit of a classic of science fiction. It is science fiction in the vein of '1984' or 'Brave New World', in other words it is set in a future society where things have gone horribly wrong. This society is brutally segregated (the Noughts on one side and the Crosses on the other) and the story involves 2 people trying to bridge the divide. This book is very relevant to our own society today. The story can be read as a tale about poverty, prejudice and sectarianism, as well as an exciting action thriller. It is the first of a trilogy.

This story is about a boy hwo startes kick boxing because his american pen pal.I liked the book because it tells you about how to get started if your intrested. It olaso shows you all the equipment and cloths.I think this book is good for people hwo like kick boxing.

The book is about mara cause the man called eyeball always watches her on the train and on the way home.So one night she went home by the train and she went in the house and man jumped out and strangled her.His name was eyeball and the dog bit his arm because he wouldn't let go.
My opinion of the book was good because it shows what happened and described what happened.My favorate part was when eyeball tried to kill her.
The book is sotuble for 11 and over i think.Most of the boys would like it as well.
AT the end of the story eyeball doesen't go near the train again.

MY OPINION=Ithought the book was good by all the detail and the way the book was formed. And all the detail anout the webs,spiders and rats ect.
I think the book is suitable for a 12 to 13.Because it sounds scary when u read it.So young people would get night mares.
So that was a good story about webs and spiders.

This book is all about cheese.There is all kinds of cheese in the world but the best cheese in the world i think is a cheese string because i like them.There is a selection of cheeses in the world from British cheese,French.German,swiss and many more.
I think that this book was good because i wanted to find out how cheese was made and i did.I thinkthis book would be for a cheese expert.

This book is about a world which has many differant species from differant worlds living among the natural inhabitants.One of these species is the Ellanois.These people can use magic but can only use magic for one of the four elemants-water,fire,earth and air.
One of these people is called Silke,a fire user,who works as a self-emloyed private investigator has been hired by the princess of the land Veelya,to find out who his placing threatning notes where ever she goes.Veelya thinks it is her brother but Silke thinks otherwise.
While at a royal dinner,another fire user attempts to kill the young princess but fails.This is when the book really gets interesting and the plot thickens.We also meet Lucius who is a water user and telepath who also works as a private investigator who his workiing for Vktor the prince of the land.Vktor has also been recieving threatning notes and magical items that could kill him.

I would recommend this book to the ages of 12-16 because I think they would enjoy it.

The one think i thought was most interesting was about the mongose becausethey are the ones that can kill snakes even though they have been bitten .

This book is about a soldier called Tommo. He tells you about his childhood .I think its sad when his brothere dies at the end of the war and Tommo say "Bye Charile". I thought it was sad because they had a disabled brother but they did not know he was diabled and they made him eat rabbit jobby but when they find out there mother make them eat the jobby and they feel really guilty .
I thik you have to hav good concentration to read this book. Ithink this book is aimed for people my age.

Sam's Dream is about a boy called Sam and he has a football star called Alex Ackton so Sam was a quiet boy.Sam then later on writes to Alex Ackton in a few weeks or days Alex Ackton then phones Sam saying that he would be delighted to come to his party.Then Alex then later phones him again to say that if Sam wanted to come to Alex's next match so Sam said "Yes".Sam then went onto the pitch with Alex and the United team as there mascot and then Sam scores into the United's goalkeeper.
I would reacommend this book to the ages of 6-12 beacause I think they would enjoy it more than older children.I would recommend this to my friends and family

I reaad abook about The Stepsby Rachel Cohn.The book is about a girls whos parents who have split up and her dad had moved to Sydney in Austrailia and is married with three kidswhich is Annabel's step-sisters and step-brother.Annabel runs away with Lucy (her step-sister)to Melbourne and then she falls in love with Ben one of lucy's friend's and ex step-brother and Annabel and Ben kiss at te end of the book in the shed that held lucy's dad stuff.At the end Annabel's mum and dad have the talk with her because she had rrun away and the talk was about her calling her mum and dad not by their first but by mum and dad and then also becaus eshe couldn't fit in with her dad's new family but she does in the end.
i liked it because it was funny and it would be suitable for 11 and over.

Gladiators! is about these two Detective Duo Antonius Pantonius and Cora Decorum that are hot on the trail with crimes going on with gangs trying to ruin the Gladiator Games with trying to kill the Gladiators.The group was weraing a black cape with an actor mask on one of them flung a knife at Suetonius and he fainted underneath it and eventually they caught the gang.

After Long Grey Norris actually won a game he then kept Brendan O'Donnell locked up because he said winner takes ALL! so Long Grey Norris took Brendan and locked him in a hut. He the went home with the help of a young lady called Orla .

Goodnight Mr.Tom is about a boy who has been evacuated from WWII.He is given to an old man whos daughter died. He lives in a quiet little village. The boy is called Willy and he i9s very shy. I thought this book was interesting and it lets you know how the war affected places. My favourite character is Mr. Tom. I think this is a book for people of 14+ because it gets boring sometimes and people under 13-14 might stop reading and not give the book time.
