'Noughts and Crosses' by Malorie Blackman
'Noughts and Crosses' has become a bit of a classic of science fiction. It is science fiction in the vein of '1984' or 'Brave New World', in other words it is set in a future society where things have gone horribly wrong. This society is brutally segregated (the Noughts on one side and the Crosses on the other) and the story involves 2 people trying to bridge the divide. This book is very relevant to our own society today. The story can be read as a tale about poverty, prejudice and sectarianism, as well as an exciting action thriller. It is the first of a trilogy.

The Goalkeeper's Revenge by Bill Naughton is a great book of short stories about a boy growing up in the North of England during the early 1930s. The author tells us all about the exciting things he does as a boy when play stations didn't exist! He has some great friends and he has a wicked sense of adventure.
I have been reading Storm-Voice by Judy Allen. This book was about a mother who has flashbacks from her childhood. Her daughter is dtermained to help stop this, so takes her mother to see her home town. I enjoyed this book very much as it was exciting and different. One of the main characters, Katie, has an adventurous personality and is determained to help her mother with her problem. Sarah, Katie's mother, is a kind hearted person but is scared to get to the root of her problem and doesn't really want to see her home town again. I don't normally read books about strange happenings, but after reading this book, I will definately read more like it. I thought this book was very exciting and I would certainly recommened it to anyone else. I think people around my age (12) would enjoy this book.

public enemy number two by Antony Horwit is a book that I have read and enjoyed.it was about a boy called Nick Diamond who got framed and then he got sent to prison.He meets someone called Johnny Powers he is public enemy number one they break out.Johnny gets washed away in a flood and Nick finds out who framed him.I would recomend this book to other boys my age.

Harry Potter and the deathly hallows by J.K Rowling is a library book I have read and enjoyed. The ending was exciting and this was my favourite part of the book. If you are going to read the Deathly Hallows, I would advise you to read The Half Blood Prince before because you might find it complicated. My favourite character was Ron Weasley because hes the funniest.I would recommend this book to everyone who likes an adventure book.This is my favourite book I have ever read and is the last book in the series so if you would like to read it read the other ones

FRANKINSTIEN is a horror classic by Pauline Francis. It is about a scientist that is working on a master piece. He is working in a small cottage turned into a lab out in the middle of no wear.I thought this novel was really good because it was interesting and i think other people my age would like this.
The diamond Girls by Jacqueline Wilson was very enjoyable. The book is about four girls and their mum they all move to the planet estate when they arrive there they find the house in a mess! Then their mum has to be rushed to hospital to have her baby. She has a baby boy or does she... she lied to the girls by saying she had a boy but she had another girl. I recommend this book to other people my age. I give this book 9 out of 10
i have been reading coraline by theresa breslin this book was great because coraline the main character wanted to explore the garden but on day it was pooring down and coraline did not no what to do her dad told her to explore the flat coraline found a door with bricks and one night it was open and another it was locked so miss spick and miss forcible told her she was in danger so i would give it 8 out of 10
I have been raeding Game Boy RELOADED by ALAN DURANT I thought it was a very good book and I would recommend it to other people my age.I would give it 9 out of 10.It was about a boy and a girl finding a game about a treasure island and finding a treasure chest.There is pirates and parrots in it.It is kind of an adventure book because they think they are in the actually in the game.
I've been reading Trick of the Mind by Judy Waite.This book is about Erin who has just moved to the area but dosen't get acepted by the popular girls. She tries to impress them by doing magic tricks also so that Matt will notice her. Matt is anoutsider aswell but he hangs about with the popular boys so that Kirsty will notice him. I didn't really enjoy this book because i found it confusing and hard to read . I think this book would be suited to second year girls.

I have been reading Fame School by Cindy Jefferies.This book is about a young girl called Chloe and her best friend Jess.They both want to be famous pop stars!They get the opppertunity to audition for a singing acadamy.It is there dream to become pop stars.But will they make it?This book is for girls at a young age because I thought it was a bit to easy to read.This book is not the best book I have read but it was ok.I did not really enjoy this book.It is best suited to younger girls.

Gameboy by Alan Durant was an exciting book about a boy who loved his gameboy and battled a two headed snake. He completed the game and bought a cat because he felt sorry for it as it nearly got zapped to death. He killed the two headed snake with a dagger and nearly got eaten alive with a crocodile. He tried to help a talking parot called polly. Tried to get the nasty fruit but couldnt get it as there was a spider on it. He thought it was tiny but it was huge. I would recommend this to my freinds, because it was really brilliant.

I have recently been reading "Looking for Billie". It is a short story about a young girl named Billie who was adopted as a child and is determined to find her mum. One day, while on a class trip she hears a woman say that she is looking for Billie. Billie assumes that this is her motherand goes after her with her friend Lucy. In the end, she finds her and finds that she isn't her real mum and her carer then adopts her.
The book i was reading was called "Mutant" by Theresa Breslin. It was about a boy who tries to steal a database and if it gets into the wrong hands bad things could happen. The book I was reading was No Way by Sue Vyner.The book was about a girl called jessie whose mum was previously in a very violent relationship.When Jessies Mum starts getting dressed up for work Jessie knows she must like somebody but she is scared in case this guy" steve" is as violent as her last dad.She soon learns that not ebvery person is the same and as it turned out he had a very high tolerance for children and traffic jams and all the things that would have made her previous dad very angry. She also learns that it is good to have a man in your life. she soon gets used to having a man around the house which is just as good as Steve moved in. I thought this was an educational book as it learned me of how a relationship between mum mand dad can change your life. I wouldn't recommend this to other people as it is boring.

They fell out for a few day's because Violet went to play with someone else and left Will. When Violet went back to play with Will, but Will went to play with older kid's. When they went back home Will still Ignored her. As the story goes along will find's out some secrets about his own past. Thing's turn out worse because Violet make's a new friend and start's to play with her. Will feel's left out. I really enjoyed this book and i would like to read more book's by Jacquline Wilson. xx

I have been reading NIGHTMARE PARK by Philip Preece. the book is about a boy called ben who is fed up of being bullied and being unpopular so one day when he gets chased into a fairground and into a mob watching a show he gets a glimpse of the future he has always wanted. The show was called dreamland and ben soon found himself on the stage.He soon found himself in darkness and was guided to a cushioned chair. He agrees to sign up to see his dreams and change his future for a small price!A couple of minutes of his life! From there his life was 50:50 as one good thing happened then another bad. He went back to change everything and ended up setting the place on fire. Soon after that he realised that he had done it.

I have been reading The Road Of Bones by Anne Fine. It is about a girl called Yuri.There is a road which that people go and never come back!!!Now Yuri goes to that road!!Will she suvive ? I did not enjoy this book a lot.Mabey it would be suited for someone older than me 3rd or 4th year.At first did not understand what it was about.It got me a little bit confused.

This book is about a girl called Katie and her mum keeps having nightmares so they go to her hometown in Cornwall to see if she remembers anything.Her mum says the dream is about a man coming at her, he swoops towards her pulling her arm and shouting at her and mouth is open wide she thinks he is going to eat her. She can't get free and she can't breathe or scream. I recomend this book to anyone who like adventure books.

The previous book i have been reading is called 'SEEING RED' it is very interesting and a good read and it is on footballs most violent matches an the author is called Phil Thompson some of the events in the book is quite extreme some of the events are also quite funny i enjoyed the book and i would defenetly recommend it to anyone who enjoys football.
The book I have read is"Doing The Double"by Alan Durant.This book is about 2 twins that had a father who was great at football.He turned to drink after a bad injury and then one of his sons didn't want to play any more but the other one did.The final came and one of the sons dale got injured and wanted joe to take his place to do the double.Joe got confused and he didn't know what to do.He thuoght about it for a while but he thought how can i refuse my brother.If u want to know more please read the book.
The bok i have been reading this week was called HOW THE LION LOST HIS LUNCH!This book was written by Axel Scheffler.This book has lots of different chapters but the chapter i liked best was Mrs Gullick. This chapter was about the family going to a womans b&b to see if the could sleep the week. When they see Mrs Gullick the decide to only stay one night. Mrs Gullick see's the little boy and askes him if he was a good boy and also if he could keep the noise down. I enjoyed this chapter the most because it had alot of told us alot about the house and Mrs Gullick herself. i really enjoyed this book i would like to read more by Axel Scheffler

The Book I Have Recently Been Reading Is Called "The Giants Necklace". It Is About A Girl Called Cherry That Collects Shells For A Very Large Necklace. She only needed 150 more, but when she went to get them, she didn't go to her ordinary place. she went explore at the sea cliff and started climbing. she then drops the 80 shells that she has collected and runs for shelter in a nearby tunnel, which is a closed coal mine. In here she meets an old man and a young man. They tell her that when the mine closed they stayed in it to finish it. She then finds out that they are actually ghosts and when she goes home to tell her searching family - who had been looking for her - they don't listen to her, infact they completely ignore her. She then finds out that when she was climbing the slippery rocks in the wild winds, that she had fell into the sea and drowned and that she too, was a ghost. This is an exiting story as you always want
to read on.
I have been reading a book is called Friday forever and about a boy called Lenny Brown how has lots of brust out he callls cosmic burps which are caused by stress. When he is stressed out he calls this a balloon ready to brust out and one day he brust out and says I wish it was Friday forever and it becomes true. He wakes up the next morning and it was Friday again it came true. I really liked this book it suits all ages i think.
This bok is about a man called Frank Lurcher and his puppet called Tolstoy twenty years ago they were the biggest names in ventriloquism. But now his toy is stuffed away in the loft. When Frank suddenly decides that his son Joason must follow in the family tradition and get a puppet of his own, which is not on Jasons mind. I think this book was quite funny!!!

Refugee boy by benjamin zephaniah is about a half etiopian, half eretrian boy whose "countries" are at war. As he is not welcome in either his dad takes him to england and leaves him there. he gets taken into the care of a family who treats him as their long lost son. he stays there until the government decide if he can stay. as both his parents later died they had no option but to let him stay. I enjoyed reading this book and would reccomend it to people who like exciting stories

I have recently been reading "The Chronicles Of Narnia The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe, Edmund's Struggle, Under The Spell Of The White Witch". It is a very exciting story of a boy called Edmund who doesn't believe his little sister when she says that there is another world in the wardrobe in there foster home. Once in Edmund has a few pieces of the White Whitches Turkish Delight which he falls in love with. He thinks that the White Witch is a nice person but when she asks were Mr Tumnus is he tells her and then realises that she is a baddy,oh no:|.The book has you at the edge of you seat as it is full of exciting situations and exotic creatures. I would recommend it to any pupil:D
