Recently I have been reading Firebird. It was about a quiet girl who lives in a swamp with her dad and her gran and her brother. The city is like their next door neighbor but they are never to go into the city because they do not believe that they need anything from the city. Her mother was dead or supossed to be dead and their dad said that he brought her back an angel but it was an angel from an old churchyard. In the end their father dies of malaria and their gran faints and is taken to a ward because she was already in the hospital and ford (firebirds brother) sets the swamp on fire then firebird goes on a search to find her mother and finds her and her mother takes her back to the swamp then they find ford when the fire is out and everyone is safe that lives.
I think this book was good but i think the ending was rubbish because their dad dies their gran is in hospital and the children and their mother are in a small house in the swamp.
The book I have read recently was "A Coyote's In The House". I didn't really enjoy because I am not fond of dogs,But I recommend it to people who like dogs and wild animals. It is a about a coyote called Antwan who lived up in the HollyWood Hills. Humans didn't like him and shouted at him ! :( Antwan enjoyed goofing around, grooming his mates AND fliting with the sisters ! Antwan enjoyed catching mice. I also recommend this book to juniors because the story is a bit childish I dont think that S3,S4,S5 and S6 would enjoy it . It is a bit childish because the coyotes can talk [which they dont in real live].In tje end of this story Miss betty hears Antwan howl and she wonders if she will ever see him again !

Recently I have been reading Love By Katie.It is really good but I wouldn't recomend it to a boy.If you like the kind of romance books you will probubly like this . It is all about Katie writing to a boy called Dave but she never plucks up the courage to actually send themshe is just far too shyShe watches Dave every morning on the busShe is always hoping that he will at least say Hello to her.She writes lots of filrty notes as if she was actually sending them. One day dave was sitting on the bus lookin really tired .Katie was worried but didn't want to say anything.Finaly they start looking at each other on the bus but daves friends catch him and start teasing himMy favourite character was Katies friend Sarah because in the end she is the one that gives Dave the letters and Dave writes one back . and in the end they finaly get together!

Recently I have been reading a great book called "Vannessa the Werewolf Hairdresser".The book has been written by Jeanne Willis and greatly illustrated by Korky Paul. It is all about a Hairdresser who opened up a salon with a sauna,pedicures,manicure and the most important a barber and hairdresser part in it.People thought it was amazing that she could run it all by her self but after a while she started to go a bit insane because their were so many customers,she had to clean the place and even man the phone and only one of her. Thank-fully one of her friends Beryl noticed and offered a hand other wise i don't think she would still be standing. As a team their buissness went great ! As they were good friend they had a good time which was ok for them as they were still making money from it.
Normally they get regular costomers such as Peter Pan, Repunzel,The Ugly Sisters, Goldilocks,Snow White...ect.
When one dark night a strange bloke came in coverd in hair they tried thier best but some how it kept coming back in quicker.When he started to act quite strange such as chewing on a towel and growling thats when they noticed its Mr Were.also he grew large paws and started walkin on all fours .So they stuck him in the Sauna Then went out to a hen night and forgot about him .
When they came back in the morning he walked out on two feet and their was no hair on him not even on his head and skin like a babies bum. He left the shop leaving the two hairdressers toatally and completely confused !

The book I have read is called 'Gabby, The Vampire Cabbie.' It was a funny book and the author made it into a poem instead of a short story. I would recommened this book to younger children, The oldest people I would recommend it to would be S1, Because it is short I read it really quickly ! Because it was so short,It only has about four lines on each page that is why I recommened it to younger children and to people who don't enjioy reading !
The story is about a vampire who is haunting the taxi-driver's cab. The taxi-driver has to pick up and drop off lots of different things whilst the vampire is haunting the cab. The sort of things ahe has to pick up and drop off are -Vlad the Impaler, Mad Queen Cab, Cinderella,Withches, Granny Red Riding Hood,Ali Baba, Grim Reaper, Gingerbread Man, Ghosts, Trolls, Mummys, Ogres, Giants, Headless Horseman AND of course the Vampire!!
After a long days work the vampire comes to get her BUT the taxi-driver has a trick up her sleeve she gave him a drink and told him it was lemonade and then he shouts NO its Hloy Water !! Then the taxi-driver gives him a Hot Cross Bun and because of the way she held it it looked like a cross So the va,mpire didn't like it ! Then the taxi-driver said " Do you want a piece of STAKE ?" She held a big bit of wood infront of him ! The last trick she did to him was she flashed a print of The Sun infront of him !The Vampire then flew away into his cave ! I enjoyed this book it was really good !

reacently i have been reading a book called All American girl.it is all about a girl called Sam Madison who loves to do art,has only one friend,an older sister called lucy and an yunger sister callled Rebecca.stranger things have happened in her life well it was pritty origanal but then one day she stops a crazy psycho from assassinating the Anerican President.
Years pass and Sam has becomes an instant world-famous celebrity.She starts dining at the White House,she gets a presidential medal and loads of other crazy things happen to her but there is only one thing stopping her do all of this and that is the Presidents son David. In the end I think they just become friends but very good ones.
Recently I have been reading Driftwood by Cathy Cassidy.The main characters are called Hannah ,Kit (Christopher) ,Joey (joshephine) and Paul . Hannah lives with her mum , dad and brother Kit.Joey is Hannahs best friend , she is adopted and lives with her foster mum and dad. She also lives with her little brother mickey . One day she gets on to the school bus and says to Hannah that her parent are fostering a new child called Paul.When they get to school they are walking together and Joey hears a sound coming from the dustbins. When they open it they find 3 little kittens that have been abandened.They call the kittens Itchy Scratchy and Krusty.Paul starts there school the next day and becomes friends with Kit.Paul loves art and has a sketch book .Kit gets a girlfriend and its Joey.Hannah doesnt like the idea because she starts to see Joey less and less every day . One day when Hannah and Kit is at Joeys house paul showes them his sketchbook. It has alot of pictures of Kit in it and kit hates this ,so the next day Kit turnes all of his friends against paul.Kit and all of his friends start to bully Paul ,but Paul wont tell anyone.In the end the social services come and take Paul away ,but he comes back and they are all happy again.
I really enjoyed this book and would like to read it again.

recently i have read a book called celtic in europe it was about when the team celtic started football and there are chapters about managers and loads of other things about celtic.The bit i liked is when they told me the celtic songs i cant rememberall of it but it starts if you know the history something something.
it is not a really good book to read.If you want to find out information about celtic then there are loads of celtic books about celtic books like these head boys,celtic in europe what iam reading,and loads others.
Recently I have been reading a book called Lucky Star by Cathy Cassidy. It is about a Boy called Mouse and a girl called Cat. Cat is a posh girl who goes to a private school and lives in a mansion. Mouse is a poorer boy that lives in dingy flat with his mum. They meet randomly when Mouse is goin to see his social worker. When he sees cat come out of his social worker dave's office, he thinks she is a kid like him who needs a social worker. Later that day, Mouse is followed by a little dog and he stars feeding the his chips and Cat comes ridind a long on her bike and accidentaly runs down the dog. They take the little dog to a vets and they soon become friends and have all sorts of adventures together.
I thought this was a great book. :)$#*&
the book i have been reading is match of the day 08 it is about all the match of the day magazines it is about all of the barclys priemier league teams and it takes you back to like when the spurs and manchester united and chelsea.
It tells you all about the teams the player and the managers .Worst thing is it dosent tell you about the SPL.It is an alright book and you get oyher ones like match of the day 09and ones below that.

Recently i have read a book called Fantasticlly Funny Stories.I am going to focus on a few of the funny stories. In this book i didn't understand all of the stories but i under stood most of them. The one i liked moast was a story called Dad lends a hand.It is about this girl that wants to know qurstions so she is asking her dad questions and her dad keeps saying i dont know. After all of that she says dad u dont mind me asking u all of these questions do you and her dad says of course i dont thats how you learn things! and her dad has just told her that he doesn't know any of the answers HaHaHa
I think if you are looking for a book that is funny then you will like this. If you want this book look at the R section in the libury because the author is Michael Rosen.

I book I have been reading lately is called Cheeky Angel. it is a japanese Manga book about a boy called megumi who wants to be the manliest man in the world. He meets a genie on the way home from scholl one day when he is walking wiht his friend. The genie tells him he can have one wish and he wishes for that. But the genie is a cheeky one and turns his wish into he wants to be the 'womanliest woman in the world'. He goes home and tells his/her mum nad she says "but youve always been a girl!". The only person who believes meg is his/her best friend. You seen them a few years on and she is the prettiest girl in the school. All the boys want out with her but she doesn't care. The only thing on her mind is turning back into a boy. But is it too late?...
A book i have read is called nudie dudie. It is about a boy called Jiggy who goes to get an autograph from Tony Baloney. One of the fans at the front gives him a present. It is a pen. Then when Jiggy goes up to get an autograph because Jiggy gave Tony his pen Tony gives Jiggy the fans pen.Jiggy takes the pen and doesn't get an autograph as the bell rings. When Jiggy is in detention he has to write lines as does everyone else. But Jiggy uses his pen and his clothes start to dissapear. Jiggy runs away to his house and because he isn't using his pen his clothes start reappearing. Jiggy soon realizes what is happening and tries to give the pen to Bry - Ry who apparently is one of his enemies. But he doesn't know why he is giving him the pen so Bry - Ry accepts the pen and goes back inside. Then he sends it back as he realizes the only way you can get rid of it is by giving it away. So Jiggy is left with the pen. I think this book was good.
The book I've read is called " Vanessa, The Werewolf Hairdresser." I found this book similar to the last one I read because it was the same author and it was the same type of idea. I swapped my book with ashleugh to see what one I found better ! I found my last book better it was called "Gabby, The Vampire Cabbie"
Although the books were similar I enjoyed them both they were quite funny ! :)
The story begins when Vanessa is perming Repunzel's hair which took a very long time to do ! Because her hair is SO long !! Her next appointment was with the two Ugly step sisters from Cinderella. ! Vanessa had a very tough job trying to make them look nicer ! :)
The next appointment was with Peter Pan He wanted his nose hair trimmed ! Vanessa reconned that he must have been about NINETY !!
In the middle of the story Vanessa's friend Beryl phoned her and it was a lucky call ! They are best friends and they used to manicure Vanessa's brother 's rat !! :)
Beryl does the beauty treatments and Vanessa does the hairdressing. The next appointment was with Father Christmas on Christmas eve to get a trim before sending presents.
The last appointment they had was with a lad who came in very late ! And that night there was no stars just a full moon !In the illistrations the lad was turning into a wolf ! He kept growing hair back as soon as Vanessa cut it ! He started to growl at Vanessa and started to eat whatever he could. He grew enormous paws and walking on all fours ! then Beryl started to wax his body because it was just like a werewolf. The story ends when the lad asks if they can arrange to get another appointment but she says " no we are fully booked , Why not try poodle parlour ?"

My sister Jodie is another book I read. It is about two girls and their mum and dad and they move to a castle place because the man and woman have got jobs there and the two sisters are to go to school there. Jodie doesn't like the school but her little sister loved it. She had met Harley who is one of their new friends now and one of the only older ones who stayed in the summer. They all kindof became good friends and they hung out alot until Jodie met Jed. Jodie Fancied Jed and he was the gardener and she soent lots of time with her and they alked an awful lot Pearl wasn't lonely though because she could then talk to Harley and they went badger watching all the tim,e and were really good friends.Then at one time after dinner Jodie noticed a big wardrobe over a great amount of stairs that lead up to a tower room where noone was allowed to go. Harley told them they were not allowed to go up there and they went anyway. They found piles of boxes and boxes stacked on top of eacch other way up high with old rubbish inside them. One of the rooms had little costumes and another had old toys like old monkeys and their hands were all ton an their faces were ragged and the hands were covered in mould too. There is a halloween party at one point in the story near the end and they use monkeys hands to use for costumes and sheets and things like that. Then later on at the very end they have a bonfire night with the big bonfire and the food and fireworks and things and Jodie goes up to the tower room. She had been telling the little ones stories of the white lady who lived in the tower and had scared all the children to death and they thought that was her but of course it was only Jodie in a big white shawl. then the little ones get scared and Joddie tries to tell them it is only her but she leans to far out of the window and falls and dies. Then they have a big funeral that was supossed to be private but everyone ends up coming. Then they move back to somewhere else and have a new baby sister May and it ends There.
I liked this book because it showed a story about death and family and i just liked it.
Recently I swapped my book with Kirsty to see what one was best and the she gave me was "Gabby The Vampire Cabbie " I enjoyed this book because it was quite like The one I read before this it was "Vanessa The Werewolf Hairdresser". I extremely enjoy reading these books for a particular reason they are ryhming books .

The sory all starts when Gabby is telling us all about who she takes in her cab such as Vlad the Impaler,Mad Queen Mab, Cinderella , witches ,Granny Riding hood ,Ali Baba...etc
But one pick up was a man dressedin black with a strong accent.He said he was starving he hadn't eatin in ages. So Gabby suggested a burger and a can of coke. As he looked so weak. He refused the burger and the coke so they set off to the Curry House. He didn't want thecurry either so they went to a chinese He said he couldn't eat that all he needed was some mountain air so off they went. They were knocked about like a football going over those cobbled rocks. The air was thick with fog and bats so they unfortunatly crashed ! They tried to call Cab Control but there was nobody there.They sat in the car she could see he was watching and to make matters worst his fangs were showing.They got outside to have a picnic but gabby gave him Holy Water to drink she grabbed her stick of pointed wood and pointed it at him. But to make sure she waved the Sun at him and he ran straght back up into his cave . But he had left his phone in the cab so she phoned another cab to come take her home.
My favourite part of the story was the endig because Gabby stood up for herself. My favourite character is obviously Gabby because she is really funny and a very strong character.

Recently I have been reading a book called Lizzy's War.it is about a girl called lizzy who is living it the second world war and a bomb goes off and hits her house.her and her mother then go and stay with Doctor Hemming for a night then her mother takes her to an old ladys house in the country called Miss Damp where she has to stay for a little while until her mother comes and gets her.Then one day her mother comes and gets her but in the end she just stays with miss Damps for a little longer so that her mother can get them a house.This was an ok book but i wouldn't read it again.
I Have Been Reading A Book Called 'Just Listen'. It IS About A Seventeen Year Old Girl Called Annabell. She And Her Two Sisters Are Models And She Has Been In Lots Of Commercials And Lots of People Know Her Face Off The Telly. But She Hates Being a Model And Wishes She Could Do Something Different That She Would Enjoy More But Her Mum Is Obsessed With Her Modelling Career And Is Really Proud Of Her Daughters. Annabell Has An Arguement With Her friend During The Holidays And Starts Getting Rumours Spread About Her By Her Friend. When She Returns To School Everyone Has Fallen Out Wiht Her. She Befriends A Quiet Boy Who Doesn't Care About The Rumours. They End Being iN A Relationship And Fall In Love. They Have A Lot Of Problems To Deal With. It Was A HAppy Ending In The End :)
I Thought This Book Was Really Good. I Would Definitley Read It Again.
Recently I have been reading Horrid Henry's Hike. I chose this book because I used to read alot of Horrid Henry and thought I might enjoy it.
The book is about Horrid Henry on a lovely sunny day.But this was the one thing Henry didnt want to happen because he knew his dad would make him go on one of his hikes.Peter was delighted because he could wear his yellow wellies but Henry just wanted to watch a special eposode of Rapper Zapper but none the less Henry's dad made him go on the hike. But he finally got into the car . When they got there henry refused to get out of the car so his dad started taking fifty pence off his pocket money for every step he took so henry came flying out of the car.
Then Peter said he needed to find something for his nature project so henry flung a beehive at him you can guess what happened next.
then Henry tried to get them to take a short cut through a field.But when they got half way through they found there was a raging bull so they ran through the field jumped a fence and landed straight into a pond so they went straight home just in time for henry to watch Rapper Zapper!

Recently I have been reading a book called Esio Trot. It was about a man called Mr Hoppy who lived a flat up above this woman called Mrs Silver who he is in love with but he can't find the right way to tell her. Then one day he has a brilliant idea on how to get himself invited down to her flat. He comes up with a spell to tell mrs Silver for her to tell her tortoise because he isnt growing. Weeks pass and the tortoise gets bigger so Mrs Silver invites him down for a cup of tea and then he proposes then two weeks later they get married. But the tortoise didnt get bigger because of the spell.

This book is about a little boy who always went to school the same way past the brown sauce factory and one morning he heard something in the river and he went to see what is was. It was puppies. He went to school with the lollipop man and he claimed he was the one who saved patrick (the little boy). Patrick wasn't happy but he didn't care because he had saved the puppies and everyone liked him. He was eventually allowed to keep one of the puppies which was golden. He called him Best Mate. Then one day when he was running on the grass in the park but when he went through the trees and never came back so Patrick went to see him away to where he was and he couldn't find him so he ran back to tell his mum and dad and they came to search with their torches because it was really dark by then as it was dark before. The lollipop man was stealing him and then giving him to a man who raced greyhounds. and then Patrick never seen him again. So he went to a little girl called Becky who didn't like her mums boyfriend (the person who took the greyhound) because he hurt the dogs and forced them for racing and if a dog didn't win he got sacked. So he was then named Brighteyes. He was really fast and he won a lot of money and Alfie the dog he was friends with was second good after brighteyes got there because he was old but when Alfie was sick Brighteyes looked after him and didn't leave his side. but one day when Becky came back from the big hill talking to her dead dad she found that the van was taking Alfie away. Becky ran away with Brighteyes and ended up ill and one of the bin men found her behind a bin with Brigheyes he took her to the hospital or an ambulance got her. Brighteyes wasn't allowed to come in though so he waited and then Becky’s mum came and got Becky to tell her that she had dumped her boyfriend and they were moving back in with her gran and granddad but they couldn't keep the dog so he was handed onto Joe who then called him Paddywack. Paddywack and Joe who worked in the tattyvan was going to sell it because Joe had a barge he took paddywack away on the barge with him after the protest to save fairlawrns.
My library book is called ‘Ellie And The Cat.’ I thought this book was imaginative because it is about a girl called Ellie. Her dad has to work away from home; So Ellie has to stay with her gran. Her gran thinks that Ellie is very unmannered! So her gran wants to fix her into a very mannered girl. After Ellies gran has given her a tour of her huge house. Ellie doesn’t like it ! Ellie's gran makes her , her dinner Sausages and Mash :) Ellie complains and moans about every thing her gran does:) Ellies gran isn't happy about the way Ellie has been traeting her :(
So As they ate their dinner , Ellie moaned and groaned about her dinner :) After Eliies gran had made her it :)
Ellie decides she doesn't want to eat it and flings it on the floor !
Ellies gran does't appreciote it but her cat licks it !
Eliies gran picks up the food wwhen Ellie isn't looking and puts in back on the plate !
Ellie screams " Somthing put my food back on my plate !"
"Oh really....." Said Ellie's Gran.
" You put it back on ! It's been on the floor !!."
After they argued Ellies gran turns her into a cat !
In the end if the story Ellie realises not to be so selfish all the time so her gran turns her back to herself !!:)

Recently I just finished the famous novel The Twits by Roahl Dahl i chose this book because I have heard good comments about it such as its very funny and easy to follow.
It starts by telling you all about the characters Mr Twit And Mrs Twit these two are very ugly characters as mrs twit has a glass eye and is a very small woman . Mr Twit is rather large both ways and has a very large beard but neither of them wash EVER :( !.
Mr Twit has food and beer and alsorts in his beard, it showd you a picture of it and it was disgusting .
Then it goes on to tell you about the horrible things they do to each other such as :-
THE GLASS EYE. One day Mrs Twit was making his breakfast and she put her glass eye in his beer.So when he went to drink it the eye rolled towards him and he got a massive fright.:).
Another trick was when Mr Twit started cutting parts of her stool of so she would think she was shrinkingso he tied her hands above her head and attached ballons to it and tied her feet to the groundand told Mrs Twit that This would stretch her again.
One of the other things was the plan about the muggle-wump monkey but il let you read the rest .One clue is they get themselves into a sticky situation!:).
My favourite character was the rolly poly bird because he saved the day .

the book I have been reading recently is love that dog. Its about a boy who's class have been doing a poem but he dosent want to do it then he does it but doesnt want his name on it. Then he decides to invite a person who writes poems to come to the school and tell them about poems. then two days later he get a yellow dog and decides to write a poem on it and puts his name on it.
The book I have been reading recently is called Superfudge. its about a boy who is called fudge and he gets a new baby sister so he trys to play with her but she can't because shes to young. So after thinking for a wee while he decides to try and sell her but it doesn't work so he trys to give her away. In the end it doesn't work.
I thought this book was funny but I wouldn't read it again
The best book ive read lately is called 'twillight'. It is the book that the film twilight is based on. It is about a girl called bella who moves to a small town to live with her dad. She meets a boy called edward and they fall in love. She soon finds out that he is a vampire. He and the rest of his family are all vampires and thay want her become one of their coven. Before she can even think about that, she has to finish high school, go to prom and convince her dad to get on with her boyfriend.
i have just finished a book called Helicopters it is about all different parts of a helicopter and tells you what they do and what their purposes are. i would strongly reccomend this book

recently I have been reading a book called Go Girl. Its about a girl called lindsay and her mum used to be a superherione. Then when her friend hassena gets kidnapped she puts her mums old costume on and go's and be's a superherione and saves her. In the other ones she just save everyone and becomes the local superherione.
this book was good and it was a comic type of thing and it was quite good and I would read it again
A book I have read lately is called 'New Moon'. It is the follow up to the book 'Twilight'.
In this book, Edward tells Bella that he is moving away. He and his family move away to Africa and Bella is left depressed. She seeks help in her old frind Jacob Black, the son of her dads friend Billy Black. Bella soon finds that she is strangely attracted to Jacob and he tells her he is in love with her.
Bella starts to cheer up. She starts to call Jacob her ray of sunshine because he is always happy.
One day Jacob starts acting funny. He says he is feeling sick, but Bella knows something is up.
She goes to visit him and calls him but Billy wont let her see him.
She get vrey lonely without Jacob there to keep her company and starts thinking about Edward again.
She runs down to the beach and to the edge of the cliff.
Jacob had once told her of this famous sport in La Push, called 'cliffdiving'.
She takes a deep breath and jumps off the cliff.
The water is too fast and she starts to drown. She feels a hand pull her up.
It was Jacob.
She takes some time to rest but after that Jacob comes round and explains why he couldnt see her.
He was turning into a werewolf. He thought she would be shocked, but after she found out about Edward being a Vampire she wasnt reall that bothered about the whole 'mythial creature' thing.
Then she get a surprise visitor.
It was Alice, Edwards sister.
She had come to tell Bella that she had a vision of Bella jumping off the cliff, and told the full family that shed commited suicide.
Bela and Alice run off to italy to get Edward, who has decided to get the Volturi; the head Vampires; to kill him.
They get to Edward in time and manage to convince him not to kill himself.
But the volturi see Bella and make them vow that they will turn her into a Vampire because it is against the rules to let any humans know.
They promise they will and Edward and his family move back to Forks for good.
I thought this book was exciting and interesting.

recently i have been reading a book called lord loss by darren shan its about a boy whos family gets violently killed by demons and he finds out he has demonic powers,so he moves in with his uncle dervish grady and they find out that some boy called Bill-e is his brother but bille is the boys brother the boy is called grubbs. any way after that bille becomes A wereworlf and grubbs has to fight the master demon called lord loss and his familliars at a game of chess but it has to be dervish who fights lord loss at chess i would reccomend thiss book to any one who likes a good horror and isny afraaid of demons!!.
I have just read a book called DRAGONS it is a non-fiction book so it doesnt have an author anyway this book is about dragons like the Baselisk the devil dragon and many more. It also telly you there are dragons and dinosaurs on earth such as the crocodile the turtle the stingray and the komodo Dragon i would reccomed tjhis book to anyone who likes droagons!!!.
