Be Yourself by Michelle Magorian

Be Yourself was a book with eight short stories in it . I will say my favourite short story in the book.
No Sweat was on of my favourite short stories in the book . It is about a boy (Mark) who enters a 200length swimming competition with his 2 friends , (Jacko and Terry). Mark had agreed to swim the first 100 Lengths and then Jacko and Terry would come later and split the last 100 lengths into 50 legths each. When Mark had finished his 100 lengths Jacko and Terry hadn't turned up , so he decided to try and for the 200 legths by hiself so he carried on swimming .When he finished Jacko and Terry still hadn't turned up , so he collected the prize money hiself . I would recommend this book to tennage readers .

The book i have been reading is called Airman by Eoin Colfer. The story is set on the Saltee islands which is near Ireland, i think. Its about a 14 year old boy called Conor Brokehart, his father is the kings personal gaurd and his mother is a scientist. Conors taecher Victor teaches him everything he knows and shares with him his dream of one day becoming the first man to fly. When Conor witnesses his king and his Teacher murdered by the evil Hugo Bonvilain he is framed and sentenced to live the rest of his life in the terrifying seaswept prison, where he is made to dive for diamonds, eat slop and fight for his life against the battering rams, an Irish group paid to harm him. Conor finally escapes and tries to head out to America, but his plans of happiness are ruined by Hugo Bonvilain yet again when he threatens Conors family and the love of his life. With the help of his blind American friend Linus.
I really enjoyed this book because although it was long, it was interesting and i found it really hard to put it down. I would reccomend this book to anyone over the age of 12 because its quite hard to understand at times.
