Olympics

It is about the olympics and the history.
It tells you about all the sports that they have held and the medal tables and where it has been at previous olympics.
For every sport it gives you pictures and diagrams as well as a little bit of information about the sport and what you need to do to compete in the event.
At the begining of the book it tells you where previous oylimpics have been held and a bit about where the next one will be held and when.
My favourite event from the book was weightlifting and it told you man fact and had good pcitures and diagrams for it.
I tells you about famous moments and people who have changed Olympic history.
The best thing about the book was the bit that said about funny and scary moments in the history of the Oylimpics.
I think it would have been better if it was a bigger book because when I was just getting into the book it was finished.
This book would be great for sporty people and also maybe for people who like history.

I was reading a book called Cheating Life,Stealing Death by famous wrestler Eddie Guerrero. He wrote this before he died in 2005 and it was brought back into the shops this year.
It is about when he was a child and also when he was growing up in El Paso,Texas as a little boy learning his wrestling skills from his big brothers and his Dad who were all famous wrestlers in Mexico and USA.
As the book goes on it tells you about him and his friends wrestling and what they were doing behind the scenes of his career.
It tells you about his health problems and his problems with his family and friends.
This would be a good book for Eddie and wrestling fans.

The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor
A book about the supposedly true story of Wonderland. It begins with King Nolan and Queen Guinerve being killed by Alice's Aunt Redd. The story progresses and Alice lives in the UK and is getting married to Queen Victoria's son. She must go back to Wonderland to save it though. The book was a brilliant read and I suggest people who liked Alice in Wonderland read it.

New School Blues by Theresa Breslin
It is about a girl called Mary and she has moved up to the "big school" as she calls it in the book.
She meets a boy called Jamie and she goes to his house and gets attacked by a bull, breaks her bag and gets her clothes all dirty.
Jamie, his Mum and Mary are going to appeal against the bull and get the bull sent away from the farm behind Jamies' house but the farmer won't let them.
Meanwhile in school they are getting loads of new subjects and loads of strict teachers who are complaining on the first day because the pupils can't find the way to their classes and can't remember what classes they have and some can't even be bothered to go to classes but instead skip class to go down the town with their friends.
I quite liked the book because it is kind of like me moving to secondary school.
I think the book would be suitable for people in P7 and S1 because it would be interesting because they are either in their first year at secondary school or are just about to move up.
It says on the book that it would only be for people aged 10 and up and I think that it appropriate because at that age you are just going to experience that in the next few years.

Offside by Jenny Oldfield

This is a non-fiction book because it isn't a real story.

It is about a boy called Danny Dollan who is also in the football team and he goes out with the cutest girl in school. At first it was ok but when the girl started to ask him to go to movies and ice skating with him it seemed he was always going to a football game or playing football himself so the girl starts to think that football comes first then her and her friends keep telling her that and are trying to make the girl dump him.At the main part of the story the girl asks him to go ice skating with Danny but he is going to a football game with his friend. But it turns out that they girls ask Dannys' friend to go to the ice skating and he goes there insted of going to the football with Danny.Danny goes to the football and stands and waits for his friend but insted his brother turns up.At half time in the match is in the other teams favour so he leaves to go to the ice skating with his girlfriend and her pals and his pal and trys to make it up to his girlfriend and they are ok and Danny always puts her before football!

I liked the book and my favourite character was Danny.

I think the book would be suitable for anyone.

This is a great book but I think I've told you everything about the computer.

The book was called The Bed and Breakfast Star by Jaquelline Wilson.

It is about a girl called Elsa who tells us about all her different bed that she has had during her lifetime.

At the beginning of the story we get told about her first few beds and then we get brought into the present time and get told about her mum, sister, brother and step dad who live in a flat. Her Mum and stepdad who is called Mack are running out of money and if they don't pay the rent they will be evicted from their falt and they will have nowhere to go.Eventually they do run out of money and have nowhere else to go.They then find a cheap B&B and get a small room.It is very cramped and Mum and Hank always want to stay in bed and are too depressed to get out of bed.Elsa has to take care of her little sister and her little brother (or bother)!
One night in the middle of the night Elsa wakes up and smells smoke. She goes down to the next floor which has the kitchen in it a sees a roaring fire.Elsa goes back to her room to wake up her family and get everyone out. When everyone is out they are moved to a church hall and Elsas family find loads of nice clothes. When they get moved they get moved into a great big house.

I thought it was a good book and Elsa was my favourite character because she was very courageus and brave.

I think it would be for any age but particularly girls.

Toby Jenkins is the main character of the book and he’s quite naïve as he doesn’t quite know what is going on. He is also a loyal friend as he stood up for Simon at the end of the book. Simon Christopher is also another main character in the book. Simon doesn’t really like Redlands much so he runs away once. When he collapsed in the park, he claimed it was a vision and that he was the “Second Coming of Christ”. The book has two themes. They are friendship and love. People who like Michael Morpurgo will enjoy this book and also people who are looking to read Michael Morpurgo. The age range is from about 9 – 13.

No one in the house likes taking Streaker out for a walk because it is like he is taking you for a walk. Trever agrees to this deal but he isn't sure if his mum is only joking about the £30.00. When he takes him out on his first walk he is stunned how fast he can run because Trever would never take Streaker out on a walk when he was younger. Trever takes off Streaker's lead and he runs for the first dog in sight!Trever runs around the field trying to catch Streaker but there is no chance of catching him. At the end of this novel his mum gave him the money and she has promised him that he can do it all summer for £50.00.

Seeing Red by Phil Thompson

This non fiction book is about fights in football such as ones between Rangers and Celtic,Arsenal and Manchester United,Ac Millan and Inter Millan and Real Madrid and Barcelona (Which is called El Classico)

This book goes in chronological order right back to the 1940's right up to 2002 which was when the book was published. It includes matches that have been stopped, people arrested, players sent off, fights and people/players/refs in hospital. Some fights have even caused crowd riots! In some other fights players have been suspended and even released from their club for fighting in a game of football. In some games players have even turned against their team mates!

I liked the book but I found it a bit boring when it was the older games and teams I haven't heard of before. The matches with the teams I had heard of were quite interesting especially games that I had seen and with quotes from people I know instead of older players from the 1970's and older.

I think this book is suitable for anyone and maybe boys who like football but also girls like me who like football but it might be interesting even for people who don't like football.I think that it wouldn't be for younger than 10 or 9.

Youth Rugby 101 Drills by Chis Sheryn. This is a non fiction book about rugby. It tells you how to pass and tackle. It has got moves that you can be very confused about but that is a good thing because you can trick them in to doing some thing like doing the scissors. That is when two people cross over each other and pass. I would give a rating of 8 out of
10. I think people from the age of 10 to 35 should read this book.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
By Alan Reynolds
Genre: Action/Mystery
Author: J.K Rowling

In Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets, Harry is waiting to get taken away from the Dursleys, as it was at the start of the series of books. When he goes to the Burrows, where Ron and his family stay, he is shocked to find Hermione there. When they get everything ready for Hogwarts and go to King’s Cross they find platform 9 and 3 quarters closed so they try to fly there but end up at the Whomping Willow tree which injures Ron and Harry. Everything then resumes as normal until Harry finds Tom Riddle’s diary. Ginny then steals it and is possessed by the spirit of Voldermort to do evil deeds. Harry,Ron and the Defence against the Dark Arts save Ginny and kill Voldermort…. Supposedly. The book is set at Hogwarts and in 2002. Harry Potter is obliviously the main character and he is still confused by Hogwarts and magic overall. The main theme is magic. I think 9-13 year olds should read this book.

Friday Forever

This book is about a boy called Lenny who always wishes that Monday was Friday.

One Friday (23rd May) Lenny woke up and smelt burning toast and his Mum has burnt the last of the bread and Lenny would have to have cereal which he hated. On the way to school his friend told a sick rabbit joke and laughed soo hard that he dropped his football into a grumpy old mans garden and Lenny's 2 friends ran away and left him standing there when the man came out and he gave Lenny into trouble and made him rake his gravel.Things only got worse at school and when he made a collage the stress balloon that had been building up in his head exploded and all his pieces of paper went up in the air and one bit drifted down right in front of Lenny it said Friday 4 Ever! When he got home his Mum had burned his dinner as well and Lenny said "What is this?National Burnt Food Day" His mum went off in a mood and left Lenny to have an early night.Lenny switched off his alarm because he wanted to have his usual Saturday lie in.Lenny was woken up by his alarm and he looked at it puzzled and he looked the date and it sad Friday 23rd May =O

I think this was an exciting interesting book and my favourite character was Lenny because instead of just living inside Friday 4 Ever he tryed change things.

I think this book is suitable for any ages and boys or girls.

Title - The Dare Game
Author - Jaqueline Wilson

Tracy beaker is back after her first book The Story Of Tracy Beaker. In the first book we left off with Tracy going to live with her foster Mum Cam [Short for Camilla] and Tracy thought it would be great and they could write storys together and Cam could buy her designer clothes and stuff but that wasn't the way reality was.
Cam was soo mean and gave Tracy into trouble for everything and she wouldn't buy her designer clothes so the people at her new school laughed at her.Tracy hated her school so she bunked off and one day she came across an old abandoned house and she went there everyday and one day she went there and got the fright of her life when she saw a wimpy boy sitting on the window sill with a bowl of smarties.
Then Tracy met her friend Football and all 3 of them bunked off everyday and went to the house and played dares.Tracy's mum came back and wanted to see her again and wanted her to ove in with her and this made a big decision for Tracy....what one would she make?
My favourite character was obviously Tracy beaker because she was funny and did all the dares and made up some really funny dares as well.
I think this book is for anyone but there is a bit in it where Football dares Tracy to take her knickers off so maybe not for people too young because they might try the dares and get into trouble

This book is about a little boy called Charlie and his amazing adventure. He is a poor little boy who lives with 6 other members of his family in a small shack. He loves chocolate very much but can hardly aford it.Then one day Mr Wonka put up signs saying that there were five goklden tickets to be won and if you found one then you would get a tour round the chocolate factory and see all his new sweets.Five golden tickets were found all over the world. That was Charlie's dream to win one of those tickets and look round the factory with his grandpawho used to work there before the factory was closed because of spies. So one day Charlie was walking dow the road when he saw some moneyin the side walk and went to buy some sweets and people all around him were saying that the last ticket was a fakeand when Charlie opened his bar of chocolate there was a golden ticket so he ran home and as fast as he could. The big day came and the five familys were standing outside ready to go in and then Augustus Gloop fell into the river and up the pipe,Violet turned into a blueberry,Veruca fell down the nut shootand Mike turned into a mini person and Charlie got the factory.I think people from 8-12 years old should read this book.
